As we near the end of National Heritage Month, let us celebrate Samarโs rich history and culture through a special Storytime featuring a heartwarming story and a background video showcasing one of the provinceโs most treasured landmarks โ the historic St. Bartholomew the Apostle Parish Church.
Built in 1616 by Spanish missionaries, this centuries-old church has witnessed the story of Samar through generations โ from colonization and devastating fires to the enduring faith and resilience of the Samareรฑos.

With pride and patriotism, the Samar Provincial Library joins the nation in celebrating the National Flag Days from May 28 to June 12. ๐ต๐ญ
This meaningful observance honors the Philippine flag โ the enduring symbol of our freedom, unity, courage, and national identity. Through this celebration, we are reminded of the sacrifices of our heroes and the importance of nurturing patriotism and love for country among present and future generations.
May our flag continue to inspire every Filipino to stand united in service, respect, and hope for our beloved nation.

๐ค BOUND FOR SUCCESS! ๐
โThe Samar Provincial Library successfully conducted its two-day collaborative retreat, โBound for Success: A Collaborative Retreat โ Focus on Teamwork, Future Growth, and Strong Foundation,โ last May 20โ21, 2026, at the beautiful Burabod Spring Resort in Paranas, Samar.
โCentered on team building, leadership, and strategic planning, the retreat kicked off with an engaging training session facilitated by the dynamic Mr. Jhunlie E. Escala, PYESDO of the Provincial Youth, Education, and Sports Development Center.
โ๐ก Through his expert lecture on leadership and management, Samar Provincial Library employees participated in interactive exercises like the "Lost at Sea" challengeโhoning their communication, collaboration, and critical problem-solving skills under pressure.
โOur goals for this retreat were clear:
โจ Strengthen Teamwork โ Building deeper trust and mutual support.
โจ Lay a Strong Foundation โ Re-aligning our team with the library's core values and the provincial government's mission.
โจ Plan for Future Growth โ Brainstorming innovative library services and broader community outreach.
