A monthlong exchange program, the Youth AmbassadorsโEast Asia and Pacific Program (YA-EAP) empowers young leaders to deepen their understanding of community engagement while strengthening their leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Now on its second year, YA-EAP is funded by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is implemented by PH International, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy and IIRR.
This year, we aided 18 students and 3 mentors for their month-long exchange in the United States last May. Throughout their stay, they participated in workshops, community service activities, leadership dialogues, and cultural exchanges with American peers.
To help prepare for their departure, an orientation was held at IIRR, together with representatives from the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, where participants learned about peacebuilding, anti-scam awareness, disaster risk reduction, and public health. The students also had the opportunity to present and receive feedback for their proposed community projects.

Many thanks as well to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the PH International (Project Harmony) , led by Mr. Drew Diemar and Ms. Jo Johnson, for their continued dedication and support to our youth ambassadors.
