𝖳𝖨𝖳𝖫𝖤: "𝙎𝙃𝙀𝙈𝘼, 𝙇𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙊𝙗𝙚𝙮"
𝖳𝖤𝖷𝖳: 𝖣𝖾𝗎𝗍𝖾𝗋𝗈𝗇𝗈𝗆𝗒 6:4-5

The passage in Deuteronomy 6:4–5, known as the 𝘚𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘢, is a powerful call from God for His people to live a life of complete devotion. The word “hear” or Shema does not simply mean to listen passively, but to listen with the intention of obeying. It is a command that goes beyond hearing words—it calls for a response of faith and action. God desires not just an audience, but obedient hearts that are willing to follow His voice daily.

This passage begins by declaring that the Lord is one, emphasizing that there is only one true God who is worthy of all worship and allegiance. In a world full of distractions and competing priorities, this truth reminds us that our loyalty should never be divided. God is not meant to be one of many options in our life—He must be the center. Recognizing God as the one true Lord leads us to surrender everything we are to Him.

Because God is one and sovereign, He calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and strength. This kind of love is not partial or conditional—it is complete and wholehearted. Loving God with our heart means giving Him our desires and emotions. Loving Him with our soul means offering our inner life and identity. Loving Him with our strength means serving Him through our actions, energy, and daily choices. True love for God is seen not only in what we say, but in how we live.

Ultimately, the Shema teaches us that real faith is active. It is not enough to know about God or to hear His Word—we are called to respond with obedience and deep love. A life that truly listens to God will reflect Him in every aspect. When we practice the Shema in our daily lives, we become people who are fully devoted, fully surrendered, and fully aligned with God’s will.
