A lot of people come into healing thinking it will feel linear.
Like there’s a clear beginning, middle, and end.
But most of the time, it’s messier than that.
Some days you feel okay.
Some days you feel like you’re back at the start.
And sometimes, the biggest thing you did that day was simply show up.
In this carousel, Julia — one of our clinicians at Inner Peace PH — shares a few things she’s learned after years of sitting with people through hard seasons. Not as advice or a checklist, but as gentle reminders for anyone trying to heal while still living real life.
Maybe some of it will resonate with you. Maybe it will simply help you feel a little less alone in the process.

Meet Julia.
Julia is one of our clinicians and is a trauma-informed therapist who believes healing doesn’t happen on a fixed timeline. That there’s no “right way” to move through pain. And that even slow progress still deserves compassion.

Boundaries are not something you earn after burnout.
Sometimes they look like:
- saying "no" without a paragraph of explanation
- letting a text sit unanswered without spiraling
- choosing yourself without calling it selfish
And if guilt starts asking questions…
consider this your permission slip to say no without justifying it first.
You are allowed to disappoint people and still be a good person.
No apology needed. Just your no — as it is.
