TITLE: "FINDING TRUE WISE MEN"

TEXT: JAMES 3:13-18

INTRO:
"THE REAL CHALLENGE IN TODAYS WORLD IS,..."WHO IS WISE AND UNDERSTANDING AMONG YOU?"
Being educated and smart person is not a proof of a wise man nor a man full of wisdom. Wisdom is not measured by earthly knowledge.
"BUT THE FEAR OF THE LORD, IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOLY ONE IS UNDERSTANDING." (Proverbs 9:10)

Two Kinds of Wisdom:

I. EARTHLY WISDOM - Unspiritual, carnality in nature, possessive, obsessive, conceited, selfish, Greedy, Egocentric, Self-centered, Arrogant, Easily provoked, Impatient, Hot-tempered, Hard to please. Demonic in nature, character and behavior.

A. SELF-GLORIFICATION - always talks about his, Attainments, Achievements and Accomplishments.

B. SELF-SERVING - a behavior who wanted to be first, he wants the attention, recognition and promotion - 3 John 1:9-10, "but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us..."

C. SELF-SEEKING - segurista and oppurtunista.

II. HEAVENLY WISDOM - is characterized with;

A. Pure - which means free from defilement. In Greek, Pure (agne), which means chaste sanctified, pure from all that is earthly, sensual, animalistic and devillish. It produces purity of heart, of life and conversation, without any flaw.

B. Peaceable - a God nature character. Derived from the Greek word, "Eirene" (peace). Desirous of making and maintaining peace. Peacemaker in character and its disposition, a catalyst.

C. Gentle - Mild, inoffensive, clement, In Greek word, "epieikes" is rendered moderation, calm in spirit, patient and gentle, easy to be entreated.

D. Full of Mercy and Good Fruits - merciful, disposed to show compassion to others. A truest wisdom from above that displays God like character, the Father of Mercies" (Matt.5:7). Compassionate and beneficence to the poor, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the widows and fatherless in their affliction.

E. Without Partiality - Margin and Wrangling. Greek word, "Adiakritos", meaning without passing judgment or discrimination, without doubting. Not creating a wall of division but equal respect to everyone.

F. Without Hypocrisy - in Greek, "Hypokrisis" which means "Stage-playing or acting". A pretensious behavior. But the absence of hypocrisy is geniune faith, sincere love, no hidden agenda, no ulterior motive but transparent and with sincerity to serve.

TITLE: "THE MESSENGER"

TEXT: Matthew 2:1-7

INTRO:
"...Where is the one, who has been born King of the Jew? We saw His star when it rose and have come to worship Him." (v.2)

I. THE MESSENGER INCARNATED TO MANKIND
- A transformation from Godhead to humanity.
- He transformed to become human for Him to reach humanity and bring eternity on their presence in the person of Christ.
A. The Messenger of Hope - Luke 2:10-11 "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord."
"...we saw His Star" (Matt.2:2)
B. The Messenger of the Most High - Luke 1:31-33
- The Highest representation of heaven that God has sent to mankind.
- The True God, the Pre-Eminent and Supreme God, the King of Kings.

II. THE MESSENGER OF LIFE
- Jesus was sent from heaven in order to bring life and restore life to humanity. Amidst of spiritual death of mankind, He came to restore that life and give a purposeful living. (Jn.10:10)
A. His Birth was a Birth of Life - John 1:4 "In Him was Life..."
B. His Birth was a Birth of Life to Humanity - "The Word became flesh..." (John 1:14)

III. THE MESSENGER OF LIGHT & FREEDOM - John 8:12, " I Am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the Light of life."
A. He is the Light that provides direction to everyone
" In Him was Life and that Life was the Light for all mankind." John 1:4
B. He is the Light Shining in the Dark -
2 Pet.1:19. "to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Morning Star arises in your hearts."
