Yes-O holds an Environmental Awareness Talk for NSTP-CWTS Students

NISU CONCEPCION - AUGUST 30, 2025

The Youth Environmentalist Student Organization (YES-O) spearheaded an Environmental Awareness Talk for National Service Training Program - Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) students at the school gymnasium earlier today.

"We as students of NISU CC should remind ourselves to be responsible every time we throw our trash and always segregate it properly," said Mark Kevin Bancayan, Asst. Treasurer of YES-O.

Over 100 students attended the awareness talk and attentively watched every slide of the PowerPoint presentation presented by YES-O officers about caring for the environment.

According to Maryne Anuevo, the YES-O secretary, "The World Health Organization (WHO), as stated in their report in 2022, said that 99% of the world's population breathes polluted air and only 1% breathes fresh air worldwide."

Together with Dr. Brandon P. Rivera, Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Director, Prof. Razel Z. Padronia, YES-O adviser and Prof. Richard D. Jardenil, NSTP Coordinator supported the said talk all throughout until the end.

All the YES-O officers later initiated a clean-up drive in all parts of the campus, with every section having their designated areas to clean.

LOOK|| Young Environmentalist Student Organization (YES-O) Concepcion Campus in their first meeting with the campus administrator Dr. Joey S Dela Cruz for the Academic Year 2025-2026.

The Officers together with their adviser Prof. Razel Z. Padronia have successfully delivered the first project proposal for the academic year 2025-2026 entitled “TRASHformation: The first step for a clean NISU CC.” This proposal aims to raise awareness and educate students about proper waste management, it is also offer a practical, impactful, and cost-effective approach to improve waste management at Northern Iloilo State University- Concepcion Campus. With administrative support and community involvement, the initiative will foster culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Along with the conversation our campus administrator Dr. Joey S. Dela Cruz also shared an additional suggestions to implement more so that we can inspire change that extends beyond the walls of our school by helping and protect our Mother Nature.🌱🌎
