The Malasakit Program Unit, headed by Ms. Baby Norbaina M. Caludtiag, RN, MPA, conducted the Orientation on the Revised MAIFIPP Guidelines (Administrative Order No. 2025-0011) alongside the official deployment and implementation of the MAIFIP Program Information System (MIS) at Dahuwan Tampeh Resort from April 20-24, 2026

This rollout aims to digitize medical assistance for indigent patients. By standardizing guidelines and implementing real-time tracking, the program eliminates manual delays and enhances transparency. This ensures efficient fund management and equitable healthcare delivery through a modernized, data-driven system. Provincial hospitals are key to the MAIFIP Program Information System (MIS) rollout. By adopting national standards, these hospitals are building resilient, tech-driven healthcare systems that ensure fair and efficient aid for all.

The Malasakit Program Team, under the leadership of Ms. Baby Norbaina M. Caludtiag, RN, MPA, conducted its Intensive Annual Monitoring and Evaluation of Funds and Implementation of the Malasakit Program – Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients Program (MAIFIPP) in the Province of Lanao del Sur and Marawi City from September 1–6, 2025, as part of its oversight of the program.

The activity aimed to assess the program’s implementation and ensure that it continues to address the needs of patients facing financial barriers in accessing healthcare services.

This monitoring and evaluation activity reinforced MAIFIPP’s objectives of providing equitable healthcare support. By strengthening collaboration between public and private healthcare facilities, the Malasakit Program Unit seeks to enhance the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of medical services for the most vulnerable populations in the Bangsamoro region.

The proactive evaluation underscores the Unit’s commitment to continuous improvement and effective healthcare delivery, ensuring that MAIFIPP remains responsive to the needs of indigent and financially incapacitated patients.

The Malasakit Program Unit also extends its heartfelt gratitude to the partner hospitals for their unwavering cooperation in the program’s implementation and for bringing happiness and hope to the Bangsamoro people through accessible medical assistance.

MAIFIP in Action!
The Malasakit Program Unit team recently conducted a pivotal ocular visit and orientation at Castillon-Gaurana General Hospital and Lebak Family Doctor's Hospital in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat on July 24-25, 2025.

This strategic initiative aimed to establish a solid foundation for successful MAIFIPP implementation, ultimately enhancing healthcare accessibility for the region's vulnerable populations.

With the Medical Assistance for Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) Program, the Ministry of Health ensures that quality healthcare is within reach. Together, we're making healthcare a reality for the Bangsamoro people.
