At the very core of our hearts lies the unchanging truth about who we are: we are beloved sons and daughters of God who’s not only our Creator but also our Father.

God created us not because He wanted something from us, or He needed us and wanted to use us for something. We are created out of the great love God has for us and we alone are called to share in His divine life. That is our unique privilege!

St. Catherine of Siena once said, “You are taken with love for her; for by love indeed you created her, by love you have given her a being capable of tasting your eternal Good.”

We are God's beloved children and there is nothing we can do that will cause us to lose this love nor is there anything we can do to earn any more of it. We are created because God, our Father loves us.

In Galatians, St. Paul writes, “As proof that you are children, God sent the spirit of His Son into our hearts crying out, “Abba, Father!” So, you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir, through God.” (Gal. 4:7).

We are heirs to the King who is also our Father!

Mother Mary served a pivotal role during the EDSA Revolution, symbolizing the maternal love and protection that united the Filipino people, in our quest for truth, justice, and peace. As a "Pueblo Amante de Maria," the gathering at EDSA thirty-six years ago reflected both the love we have for Mary and the love she has for us. Her presence was felt as she enveloped the people in her mantle of care, guiding them through a time of turmoil without bloodshed. The peaceful movement showed a profound reliance on prayer, devotion, and community spirit, contrasting with the violence of oppressive forces.

Moreover, to truly embody the spirit of "Pueblo Amante de Maria," we are called to emulate Mary's love by actively participating in the pursuit of justice and righteousness in our nation. The legacy of EDSA serves as a reminder that faith, solidarity, and the example of Mary should guide our collective actions, ensuring that the values of love, charity, and truth remain central in shaping our country's future.
