May 7, 2026 - The third year BSEd Social Studies students demonstrated creativity, innovation, and academic application through the development of Social Studiesโaligned board games. This activity provided students with the opportunity to transform key concepts, themes, and learning competencies of the Social Studies program into interactive educational materials designed for collaborative learning.
Each group carefully conceptualized and designed a board game that meaningfully incorporated Social Studies content. Through this process, students applied critical thinking, creativity, and pedagogical planning in order to translate historical, civic, cultural, and social concepts into engaging game-based experiences. The activity challenged them not only to understand the subject matter, but also to present it in a way that encourages participation, reflection, and deeper learning.
As an instructional approach, board gameโbased learning offers a dynamic and learner-centered strategy in teaching Social Studies. It promotes engagement, interaction, and meaningful knowledge construction while making learning both enjoyable and informative. More importantly, it reflects how future educators can design innovative classroom experiences that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and social awareness.

Every May 1, the world pauses to honor the hands that build nations, the voices that demand dignity, and the unseen efforts that keep society moving forward.
Labor Day is more than a commemoration of work. It is a recognition of sacrifice, perseverance, and the quiet strength found in everyday labor. It belongs to workers who rise before the sun and return long after it has set, to those who give their time, their energy, and their lives in exchange for progress that often goes unrecognized.
Among them stand the farmers, whose lives are deeply tied to the soil they till and the seasons they endure. In the Philippines, their struggle continues amid rising costs, unpredictable climates, limited support, and the constant uncertainty of yield and income. They plant hope seed by seed, harvest resilience crop by crop. And still, many struggle. Prices fall, rains fail, storms destroy. The weight of uncertainty is heavy, yet they stand, rooted like the fields they tend, refusing to yield.
Still, they continue. Still, they rise. Still, they choose to cultivate life from the ground up, day after day.
To honor labor is to honor dignity. To honor dignity is to acknowledge that every worker, especially those who sustain our food and survival, deserves fairness, protection, and genuine support. The strength of a nation is not measured by its structures alone, but by the well-being of those who sustain its foundation.
