What about B.E.R.T?
Berlin Emergency Rescue Team (B.E.R.T) is a non-profit organization with programs and missions on animal welfare. It was established in 2015 and founded by Susan Espinosa. Susan has been rescuing animals since she was in elementary. In 2015 she became a full-time animal rescuer. She is the only one who is doing the rescue operation however different groups and friends are willing support her on the organization she’s sustaining.
Her inspiration on saving animals rooted from the story of a puppy who’s been abandoned by his owner. Back in 2015 in Berlin St. Golden City, Susan spotted an abused puppy in front of a big house. The owner kept hurting his puppy due to it’s skin diseases and bug infections. The puppy stayed at a lamp post infront of his owners’ house. Every time the puppy’s owner arrives he welcomes him wholeheartedly but sadly the puppy is being kicked out by his owner.
After witnessing such abuse and feeling the puppies sadness, Susan rescued the puppy and named him “Berlin”. Berlin was brought in a Veterinary clinic but after a week Berlin died. That’s why she started an animal rescue team and named it Berlin Emergency Rescue Team in short (B.E.R.T.)
