𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 | Day 1 Highlights

The 4th Academic Summit of Isabela State University (ISU) formally commenced on June 23, 2026, at Maria Lourdes Mansion in Naganacan, Santa Maria, Isabela, and will continue until today.

The opening day welcomed delegates from the University’s different campuses and started the discussions, collaboration, and strategic planning in pursuit of academic excellence and institutional development.

Also present was Dr. Pilar B. Acorda, who represented Dr. Julieta M. Paras as resource speaker from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Isabela State University (ISU) celebrates as it successfully maintained its position in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, remaining within the 401–600 global tier among higher education institutions advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Further affirming its leadership in sustainable development, ISU is among the Top 5 universities in the Philippines to contribute in the attainment of the UN SDGs through higher education and by demonstrating the University's commitment to excellence, innovation, and transformative service to communities.

This recognition shows ISU's sustained efforts to integrate sustainability into instruction, research, extension, and governance and create meaningful impact from the grassroots to the global stage.

Among the University's strongest performing SDGs out of 17 submitted applications in the 2026 rankings are SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions - Rank 88), SDG 1 (No Poverty - Rank 101-200), SDG 5 (Gender Equality - Rank 101-200), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger - Rank 201-300), and SDG 4 (Quality Education - Rank 301-400).

Particularly worth noting is ISU’s outstanding performance in SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), where the University achieved a global rank of 88, placing it among the Top 100 higher education institutions in the world that advance initiatives that promote inclusive societies, accountable governance, ethical leadership, and strong institutions.

As ISU continues its journey toward becoming a Smart-Green University, this achievement serves as a testament to the collective dedication of its administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, partners, and stakeholders to advance sustainable and inclusive development.
