As we celebrate National Heritage Month, we honor the enduring legacy of the Santa Maria Magdalena Parish Church of Hinigaran — one of the oldest and most significant heritage churches in Negros Occidental. More than a place of worship, the church stands as a symbol of faith, resilience, and the rich cultural identity of the Hinigaranons through generations. ⛪✨

The present stone structure of the church began construction in 1858, showcasing classic colonial-era architecture that continues to inspire both devotees and heritage enthusiasts today. Through wars, natural calamities, and changing times, the church has remained at the heart of the community — witnessing countless stories of devotion, tradition, and local history.

Today, the Santa Maria Magdalena Parish Church remains an important cultural and historical landmark, reminding us that heritage lives through the places, stories, and faith that continue to unite communities across Negros Occidental. ❤️
