20 BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS MONITORED IN CITY OF ILAGAN

DTI R2 Isabela Consumer Protection Division Assistant Mr. Elpidio Caronan Jr., conducted a price and supply monitoring of basic necessities and prime commodities in some of business establishments (BEs) here in the City of Ilagan, Isabela on June 16 - 17, 2020.

According to Mr. Caronan, price and supply of basic necessities and prime commodities remain stable in the City. In addition, he also observed that the BEs he monitored have also established safety and health protocols for employees and customers.

A total of 20 business establishments monitored by Mr. Caronan.

Said establishments can operate at a maximum of 30% capacity during the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and will be further allowed to operate at a 50% maximum capacity during the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

NOTE: Barbershops/Salons need to comply before they will be allowed to operate again. They may are allowed to operate in areas under MGCQ and shall be allowed reopen on 7 June 2020 for areas still under GCQ.

READ | May 21, 2020: Complaints Validation & Monitoring

The Department of Trade and Industry - Isabela Consumer Protection Division conducted a validation regarding the complaints of a concerned consumer in Santiago City filed through Facebook messenger. The complaints are the following: inconsistency of price tags on some products with the price verification machine, and some products do not have price tags. The DTI team issued a notice of violation (NOV) with the erring business establishment.

The DTI team also conducted random monitoring on basic and prime commodities and construction supplies especially cement.
