LOOK: CEREMONIAL TURNOVER CEREMONY OF LEMON JUICE PRODUCTION ENTERPRISE AT BARANGAY NAZARETH, KABASALAN, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY

The DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program - Sibugay Cluster attended the turn-over ceremony of NOW SLPA's Lemon Juice Production project at Brgy. Nazareth, Kabasalan, ZSP today, March 4, 2025. The SLP Association composed of 30 members from the barangay's Women's Association, received Php 600,000.00 grant as their start-up capital for their enterprise.

The activity was attended by different agencies as this project is a convergence effort among Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Present in the activity were Ms. Noemi P. Baretto, PARPO - I of DAR Sibugay, Mr. Romulus M. Perez, OIC-CARPO of DAR Sibugay, Edgar G. Milanes, Provincial Coordinator of DTI-CARP, Atty. Lycel C. Tan, Municipal Administrator, Ms. Mary Grace F. Dinaga, MSWDO, and Ms. Miladel Capitania, MAO and Tourism Officer along with the barangay officials headed by Brgy. Captain Francisco B. Dullesco.

Project Development Officer assigned in Ipil, Ms. Vicel Jane C. Gimon, has partnered with the Local Government Unit of Ipil to equip 75 SLPA Officers of the 12 SLPAs in the municipality with a refresher course on Leadership and Financial Literacy at the OSCA Conference Hall, Poblacion, Ipil last February 19, 2025. The Resource Persons for the said trainings were Mr. Masdi A. Hasim, the Municipal Cooperative Officer along with Babiera Women's Association President Ms. Dexter S. Galambao.

This partnership between SLP and the LGU can make a significant impact and promote sustainable development for the program participants.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) recently provided financial assistance to the Buug Villacastor Small Farmers SLP Association in Villacastor, Buug with a P390,000.00 grant for their hog raising project.
