Ecowalk Action | GJG Samonte Chapter officers and active members, together with the SK Officials Launch participated in the "Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program" today, January 6, 2024

In a resounding display of environmental activism, the Greener Joshua Generation of Samonte Chapter has joined forces with the SK officials for an Ecowalk Action.

This initiative, prompted by the 'Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program,' kicked off today, January 6, 2023, with fervent youth leaders taking charge across designated areas in Barangay Samonte.

As we embody the brand of leadership of a "Bagong Pilipinas which calls for transformations in all sectors of society and government, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) launched the KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program today, January 6, 2024.

According to the Memorandum order, the Kalinisan Program is a convergence Initiative to consolidate all efforts of the government to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for all by capacitating local government units and enabling community participation anchored on the tradition of "bayanihan".

Specifically, it aims to:
a) To raise awareness and encourage participation among the Filipino Citizens on environmental responsibility magh proper solid waste management;

b) To encourage local government units to invest in programs, projects and activities on solid waste management and ecological practices; and

c) To set up a recognition system for the cleanest local government units

Consequently, the national launch will coincide with the celebration of the Annual Community Development Day pursuant to Proclamation No. 341, which is very relevant to the cause of this initiative as both foster and promote self-help development in the time-honored Filipino tradition of "bayanihan" thus enabling our people to actively participate in the growth and prosperity of the country.

The 'Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program' serves as the driving force behind this eco-conscious movement, propelling the SK and GJG - Samonte Chapter members into action. This collaboration underscores the potent role of youth engagement in shaping a Bagong Pilipinas that values and preserves its natural resources.

This collaborative effort is poised to become a model for other communities, showcasing the transformative potential of unified youth-led initiatives.
