Greening Our School: A Successful Tree-Planting Activity and Clean-Up Drive

On November 21, 2025, Geras Integrated School conducted a successful tree-planting activity and clean-up drive, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. This initiative, organized by the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) program in collaboration with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (GIS Senior Scouts), aimed to foster environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices among students.

The event commenced with an assembly of scouts, faculty, and scout leaders on the school grounds, followed by a briefing and a demonstration of proper tree-planting techniques. Participants planted ten tree seedlings in designated areas, including the playground, garden, and perimeter. A subsequent clean-up drive resulted in the collection of ten sacks of refuse, significantly enhancing the school environment.

The success of this event reflects the school community's dedication to environmental conservation. Special recognition is extended to the dedicated organizers: Jerra Mae Circulado, SDRRM Coordinator and BSP Outfit Adviser; Abdin Naiyf Amil, BSP Coordinator; and Eljude M. Nacario, Outfit Adviser. Gratitude is also expressed to Principal Margarito S. Reyes, Jr., and Head Teacher Mark Randy Bertulfo for their invaluable support.

The activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the school administration, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, and various community organizations. We encourage continued collaboration to protect our environment and positively impact our community.
