I love painting.
But I’m more of a Paint by numbers kind of girl🫣

As I finished this painting, I heard the art speak to me. It was so vivid I had to write it down.

In 2011, I said goodbye to my future…

I was 22 back then.

Almost a few months after graduating college, my future was bright…
I had it all figured out; I had a five year plan. I was working as a Sales and Marketing in a Publishing company (what a foreshadowing of what I will become as a Writer and Author). I was starting to go up the corporate ladder and in less than a year I closed a few accounts.
I was about to be promoted.

But you know what, God had much much greater plans for me.

I resigned that year.

And ultimately, I said goodbye to “my future”, to that five year plan and everything else.
Nobody forced me.
No one asked me at church or my mentors or pastors.

It was the conviction of a 22 year old girl who had a crazy dream from God to go back to her hometown, the very place she was running away from, to start a houschurch and win her family.

Looking back as I read through this poem, I could still see myself behind my corporate desk weeping as I prayed this to God to send me.

And when it got hard along the way and years (oh it did! And you’ll read more bout it in my Till the Full Light of Day book series: Dusk, Dawn, Daylight), this prayer and poem would remind me that it was I who asked God to be sent out.

Til now it still humbles and amazes me that He did send me out. Though I always felt unqualified, His qualifications has always been about Him and through His all sufficient Grace🙌🙏

God is calling... will you answer the call?

"Till the Full Light of Day" is my journey with Christ.

And it all started at dusk.

The progression of how my life was once in darkness, then to dawn, till daylight, is told in a series of prose and poetry l've written before I encountered the Lord and when I finally started walking with Him.

One particular moment was in 2011, after just a few weeks of starting out on my journey, I had this conviction to resign from my corporate job and pursue full-time ministry as a house church and satellite church planter in my hometown.

This was the poem I wrote that day as I received that call from God.

And my life was never the same again.

Right now, l've only published the first volume, "Dusk."
