The USM Society for the Advancement of Veterinary Education and Research (SAVER) proudly recognizes the academic achievement of its alumnus, Dr. Freniemer P. Dacaya, following the successful completion of his Master of Science in Animal Science major in Animal Production. His accomplishment reflects dedication to advanced research, scientific inquiry, and the continuous pursuit of excellence in the field of animal science and veterinary public health.

Dr. Dacaya’s graduate thesis, entitled “Assessment of Microbial Load and Antimicrobial Resistance Bacterial Contaminants Isolated from Poultry Meat Sourced from a Peri-urban Public Market: A Basis for Policy Recommendation,” focused on evaluating bacterial contamination and antimicrobial resistance patterns in poultry meat sold in local public markets. His study contributes valuable insights to food safety, public health, and antimicrobial stewardship, highlighting the importance of research-driven approaches in ensuring consumer protection and promoting responsible practices in animal production systems.

This academic milestone underscores Dr. Dacaya’s commitment to research excellence and professional growth. His work serves as a meaningful contribution to the advancement of animal science, food safety, and veterinary-related research.

On June 21, 2026, SAVER held its annual Kick-Off Party to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of its graduating resident members. The gathering served as a symbolic farewell to our seniors and a celebration of their transition from resident members to proud alumni.

The event brought together graduates and resident members for an evening of recognition and fellowship. The program included a shared dinner, individual speeches from the graduates, and inspiring messages from our alumni. The night continued with the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation, a fun photo-taking session, and valuable bonding moments over good food and great company.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our alumni for their continued love and support, which continue to inspire and strengthen our family.

To our dear graduates, we hope you leave this chapter feeling fulfilled, happy, and proud of the bonds you have built within SAVER. Your dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed, and every effort you contributed to the organization is deeply appreciated. This is not an end but the beginning of a new journey and a new relationship with the organization you helped shape.
