The film is about the 19 Martyrs of Aklan, antibg-anting, Babaylanism and women empowerment.

DAAN PATUNGONG TAWAYA SPECIAL FILM SCREENING IN KALIBO

"Daan Patungong Tawaya" is a documentary film led by historian John Barrios who is an Aklanon and directed by Visayan filmmaker Kevin Pison Piamonte and our very own Aklanon JR Macahilas. The film centers on the story of the Katipunan movement in Aklan, the first Katipunan branch organized outside Luzon. It highlights the 19 Martyrs of Aklan and the untold stories of the revolution such as the anting-anting and babaylanism.
