GOODBYE, QUARTERLY GRADING PERIODS!
Starting School Year 2026–2027, DepEd will implement the Three-Term School Calendar in basic education under DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026. This means the school year will move from the usual four-quarter setup to three academic terms.
Each term will be organized into learning blocks:
the Opening Block,
Instructional Block,
and End-of-Term Block.
The Opening Block covers orientation, class organization, learner profiling, pre-assessment, gathering of school requirements, and other school preparation activities.
The Instructional Block serves as the main teaching and learning period, where lessons, competencies, performance tasks, summative assessments, and term examinations are conducted.
The End-of-Term Block is allotted for grade computation, academic intervention, recognition activities, PTA meetings, teacher professional development, co-curricular and extracurricular activities, and wellness breaks for learners and teachers.
The Three-Term School Calendar aims to provide longer and more focused learning periods, reduce frequent class interruptions, and give schools dedicated time for assessment, remediation, and recovery.
The new calendar will be implemented in all public schools nationwide starting School Year 2026–2027. Private schools may adopt the same structure, provided they comply with the required number of school days and existing DepEd policies.

10 February 2026
As part of the Career Days celebration of Taguitic Integrated School, one of the highlights of the activity was guiding learners in making informed decisions about their future. The school community played a vital role in directing students toward the right career paths through meaningful support and accurate information.
A key segment of the program was the orientation on the features of the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum for Grade 10 students. We were honored by the presence of Ma’am Shiela Divino, SHS Chairperson of Bansarvil National High School, with the support of their principal, Sir Jestoni Jueves. Ma'am Shiela shared valuable insights on the curriculum’s key components, opportunities, and advantages, enabling learners to better understand the pathways available to them.
Learners actively participated by asking relevant questions that helped them choose the most suitable track aligned with their interests and aspirations. Moreover, the Senior High School teachers of Taguitic Integrated School clarified misconceptions and addressed areas of confusion regarding the curriculum.
Through this initiative, we remained aligned with our theme of guiding students’ career decisions through accurate and meaningful information. We sincerely hope that our collective efforts will empower our learners, for they are the future of our fatherland.
