๐ƒ๐ˆ๐ƒ ๐˜๐Ž๐” ๐Š๐๐Ž๐– THESE FUN FACTS??? Weโ€™ll bet you don't!

Today, June 12, 2026, marks the 128th anniversary of the 1898 proclamation in Kawit, Caviteโ€”but while we celebrate the past; let us put light on the present struggles and sacrifices of the new generations.

Thousands of marchers from Manila to Cebu have taken to the pavement for the "HINDIPENDENCE Day: People's Parade and Cultural Protest" to declare that true freedom remains an unachieved illusion. The bitter truth underscored by today's mobilizations is that the Philippines is still heavily shackled. Our lands and seas are treated as geopolitical playgrounds for foreign superpower military interests, our local resources are controlled by foreign agendas, and our own people are left carrying crushing economic weights under the shadow of global corporate dictates.

True Kalayaan cannot merely be a holiday or a celebration of facts from 128 years ago. There is no genuine independence when a nation remains politically compromised, economically subservient, and militarily dependent on foreign powers. Today, we don't just look back at history; we challenge the present because the fight for complete, absolute sovereignty is far from over.

Happy Independence Day! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญโœจ

Today, June 12, 2026, marks a momentous milestone as the Philippines celebrates its 128th Independence Day.

On this historic day in 1898, General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine islands from the colonial rule of Spain. From the window of his grand ancestral home in Kawit, Cavite, the iconic red, white, and blue Philippine flag was proudly unfurled for the very first time, accompanied by the stirring strains of the national anthem, Lupang Hinirang.

While our journey toward true self-determination faced more twists, turns, and foreign interventions in the decades that followed, June 12 remains the foundational bedrock of Filipino freedom. It stands as an eternal tribute to the immense courage, sacrifices, and unyielding spirit of our heroes who fought to ensure that the sun and stars would always shine bright over a free nation.

To Filipinos all across the archipelago and in every corner of the worldโ€”celebrate today as not just another long weekend but instead as a day to celebrate our filipino pride! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ ONE FLAG. A LIFETIME OF SYMBOLISM.

Today, May 28, marks the beginning of the National Flag Days, a period stretching until Independence Day on June 12, where we honor the ultimate symbol of our nationโ€™s sovereignty, unity, and resilience.

The Philippine National Flag is being raised simultaneously across various historical sites in the country. Key locations include the Dambana ng Alapan in Imus City, Cavite, and Liwasang Rizal (Rizal Park) in Luneta, Manila.

May 28, holds massive historical weight. Following General Emilio Aguinaldoโ€™s return from exile in Hong Kong in May 1898, the Battle of Alapan became the very first major clash between Filipino revolutionaries and Spanish forces. The revolutionaries achieved a monumental victory after the enemy ran out of ammunition and surrendered. To commemorate this first sweet taste of Filipino triumph, Aguinaldo unfurled and waved the Philippine flag for the very first time at his headquarters in Cavite.

Behind every thread of our flag lies a story of sacrifice, hope, and an enduring struggle for freedomโ€”beautifully captured by the imagery of its creation by Marcela Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo, and Delfina Herbosa de Natividad in Hong Kong.

Our flag reminds us of the enduring spirit of the Filipino masa. Today is a day to remember the people who came before us, who fought for the peace in the blue skies, the end of rivers that run red with blood and violence, and the ability to see the light of the sun for another day. As a organisation, we invite everyone to look up at the three stars and the sun with renewed pride.

Sahod, itaas! Presyo, ibaba! Manggagawa naman! ๐Ÿ”จ
