DIWA is deeply honored to convene the โ€œDriving Digital Inclusion in the Age of AI: How Women and Countryside Communities Can Advance Responsible and Transformative AI,โ€ an online side event of the First Session of the Global Dialogue on AI Governance, taking place on 6โ€“7 July 2026 at Palexpo, Geneva.

This dialogue affirms a message that is urgent, universal, and deeply human: the governance of artificial intelligence must be inclusive, equitable, and grounded in the realities of people and communities. As AI continues to transform economies, public services, education, enterprise, and work, its benefits must extend beyond capital cities, boardrooms, and technology hubs. Women, MSMEs, youth, local innovators, digital workers, and countryside communities must have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of AI.

Through The DIWA Dialogue, we hope to contribute to the global conversation by highlighting practical pathways for responsible and transformative AI adoption. The session will explore how inclusive policies, digital skills, innovation ecosystems, community participation, and safeguards can help ensure that AI becomes a bridge to opportunity rather than a source of exclusion.

We will also reflect on how AI systems can be made safe, trusted, rights-respecting, culturally responsive, and locally grounded โ€” especially for communities that have historically been underrepresented in technology and development conversations.

DIWA Convenor Atty. Jocelle Batapa Sigue will be joined by women leaders and innovators who bring important perspectives from social innovation, data science, digital governance, community development, storytelling, MSME support, and women-led technology leadership:

Joie Cruz, Founder and CEO, Limitless Lab
Frei Sangil, CEO and Lead Data Scientist, Layertech Software Labs
Lorna Bondoc, Founder and CEO, Yoveo Digital

Together with brief insights from DIWA advocates, this dialogue seeks to advance a simple but powerful principle: AI governance must serve people, uphold dignity, expand opportunity, and leave no community behind.

Date: Tuesday, 7 July 2026
Time: 07:00โ€“08:30 CEST / 1:00โ€“2:30 PM Philippine Time
Format: Online side event

Organizers: Philippine ICT Innovation Network and Digital Innovation for Women Advancement

To every woman in ICT, countryside innovator, MSME champion, educator, student, policymaker, and community builder: this conversation is an invitation to participate in shaping a more inclusive AI future.

AI must be responsible.
AI must be transformative.
AI must be inclusive.
And above all, AI must advance human dignity, shared progress, and the public good.

Today, the young girls of ๐๐š๐œ๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฒ๐š๐ง ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ took center stage as they explored the exciting world of robotics through ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ ๐ž ๐ˆ๐‚๐“'๐ฌ ๐“๐ž๐œ๐ก๐Ÿ’๐†๐จ๐จ๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ, joined by ๐‹๐€๐˜๐„๐‘๐“๐ž๐œ๐ก'๐ฌ ๐‹๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐Ÿ๐‚๐จ๐๐ž ๐‘๐จ๐›๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ in Oriental Mindoro.

Led by Data Scientist ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐ข ๐’๐š๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ฅ, alongside our dedicated staff and volunteers from Stairway Foundation, these bright and enthusiastic learners eagerly assembled, programmed, and brought their own mini-robots to life! Throughout the day, the girls demonstrated not only creativity and teamwork, but also remarkable curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

One of the most inspiring moments came during their presentations, where each group proudly showcased their robots and shared what they had learned. Their excitement, determination, and sense of accomplishment reminded us that girls belong in STEMโ€”and that when given the opportunity, they can truly thrive and excel.

Equally inspiring were the dreams they shared for their future. Many of the girls expressed their aspirations of becoming scientists, teachers, medical professionals, and even tech-informed politiciansโ€”future leaders who will use knowledge and innovation to serve their communities. Their ambitions serve as a powerful reminder that talent and potential exist everywhere, and that access to quality STEM education can help transform dreams into reality.

At LAYERTech, we believe that every child deserves access to meaningful technology education. By empowering young girls with STEM skills at an early age, we are helping build a more inclusive future where innovation knows no gender.

We hope this experience encourages these young learners to continue exploring, creating, and dreaming big.

A big thank you to Converge ICT Solutions Inc., Stairway Foundation, Baclayan Mangyan School, our volunteers, and everyone who made this meaningful day possible! !
