LEGAZPI CITY โ Demonstrating its trademark resilience and proactive disaster management, Legazpi City has officially recorded zero casualties throughout the observance of Holy Week and the bustling celebrations of Easter Sunday.
Mayor Hisham Ismail proudly confirmed the milestone, attributing the success to rigorous preparation, swift community cooperation, and the unwavering vigilance of the city's safety and security sectors.
Guarding the Coastlines, Securing the People
Holy Week in Legazpi traditionally sees a massive influx of locals and tourists flocking to the city's scenic coastlines and beaches to celebrate Easter Sunday. To counter the inherent risks of drowning and overcrowding, the city government executed a masterfully coordinated safety plan.
Mayor Ismail gave special recognition to two pivotal units that worked around the clock:
The Legazpi City Police: For maintaining strict peace and order, managing traffic flow to heavily visited areas, and ensuring a visible, reassuring presence across the city.
The Integrated Coastal Resource Management Unit (ICRMU): For their tireless dedication in guarding the coastlines, monitoring water conditions, and actively ensuring the safety of thousands of beachgoers.
"Our achievement of a zero-casualty Holy Week is not a stroke of luck; it is the direct result of hard work, sleepless nights, and the tireless dedication of our city police and the ICRMU," Mayor Ismail stated. "They stood watch so that our families could reflect, recreate, and celebrate in peace. I salute their service."
A CULTURE OF SAFETY
The city's zero-casualty feat further cements Legazpiโs reputation as a model for public safety and disaster risk reduction. City officials also extended their gratitude to the public for cooperating with safety marshals and adhering to local ordinances during the long weekend.
As the summer season continues, Mayor Ismail assured the public that the city government will maintain its high level of alertness to keep both residents and tourists safe.

BAYANIHAN SA DALAMPASIGAN: Patuloy Clean-up Drive sa kahabaan Legazpi Boulevard
Isang Pasasalamat at Pagpupugay
โข Barangay Puro Volunteers โ Sa inyong walang pagod na dedikasyon.
โข ICRMU, OCENR, at City Engineering Office โ Sa teknikal na suporta at kagamitan.
โข Individual Volunteers โ
MAHALAGANG PANAWAGAN
