Today, February 25, 2026, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, the bloodless uprising that toppled a dictator and reclaimed our democracy.

From February 22-25, 1986, over 2 million Filipinos flooded the streets of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Manila. Shielding defecting soldiers from tanks with rosaries, flowers, and bare hands. Led by icons like Cory Aquino, Cardinal Jaime Sin, and Butz Aquino, they faced down Ferdinand Marcos’ regime after a brazen election fraud. No bullets fired, just unbreakable people power and proving faith, unity, and courage can topple tyranny.

This miracle restored our freedom, birthed our Constitution, and reminds us: Democracy isn’t given; it is defended.
