The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Kapit-bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (KKB) Cash-For-Work Program (CFWP) for Higher Educational Institution (HEIs) continued its provision of assistance to new batches of college graduates and students nationwide.
Launched in 2023, the KALAHI-CIDSS KKB-CFWP has already made a significant positive impact by offering financial relief and enhancing the employability of young Filipinos transitioning from student to the workforce. The program provides knowledge-based training to boost skills and career readiness.
In the National Capital Region (NCR) for this year, the program has partnered with Rizal Technological University, Technological University of the Philippines-Manila, Colegio de Muntinlupa, Paraรฑaque City College, and Quezon City University. CFWP staff are currently in discussions and conducting orientations with HEI program coordinators and officials.
To qualify for the program, applicants must be the sole beneficiary from their low-income family, be either an unemployed graduate or a student with no income, and must not have participated in any other DSWD Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) Cash-For-Work Program (e.g FarmAralan) since 2024. Individuals who participated in the 2024 CFWP from the same HEIs but did not complete the full 90-day engagement are also eligible.
Potential beneficiaries need to submit a Certificate of Eligibility or Indigency from their Local Social Welfare and Development Office (LSWDO) or Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), proof of completion or enrollment from their HEI (diploma, transcript, enrollment certificate, student ID, etc.), and a photocopy of a valid identification card.
Each participating HEI in NCR has been allocated 300 slots, with beneficiaries receiving 645 pesos for eight hours of work per day, for a maximum of 50 days. The daily minimum wage may vary in other regions based on the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) guidelines.
According to DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS CFWP Project Development Officer IV Lea L. Nieva, RSW, interested graduates and students are encouraged to inquire about the program at their respective HEI's Office of Student Affairs and Alumni Services. (kcnpmo/ahff)
