“Tennun” is a term for handwoven fabrics made by Yakan weavers. The Yakan are an indigenous group from Basilan with a tradition of creating handwoven fabrics with a backstrap loom. Today, the tradition is passed on to younger weavers.

The Balik Batik Boutique is located in the Britech College Campus in White Rose, Liloan, Cebu. We work with partner artisans, weavers and designers from all over the Philippines We ship nationwide and worldwide.

Cape Blazers with Yakan handwoven fabric These unique pieces feature tennun, traditional handwoven fabric of the Yakan ethnic group of Basilan. The Yakan have been weaving for many generations now and their weaving tradition is passed on even to younger weavers. Their fabric features vibrant colors and geometric designs.
