Domalandan Center I/S Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Bulletin

Through the able leadership of Dr. Teody M. Delos Santos, Principal II and Mr. Jefferson Y. Guarin , School DRRM Coordinator and Lingayen 2 DRRM Alternate, the Domalandan Center Integrated School participated in the Office of Civil Defense’s (OCD) "Emergency Preparedness and Safety Management in the Workplace: Expecting an Unexpected in the New Normal. The said webinar centered on workplace preparedness in different hazards amidst COVID-19 pandemic. Amidst this ongoing public health emergency brought about by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), it is also important to take into consideration the imminent threats of other natural and human-induced hazards, in which all stakeholders must be prepared to respond to specially in the workplace. This is in line with the Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Reduction and Management Act of 2010 which shifted the policy environment and the way the country deals with disasters from mere response to preparedness. RA 10121 provides a comprehensive, all-hazard, multi-sectoral, inter-agency, and community-based approach to disaster risk management through the formulation of the National Disaster Risk Management Framework. Meanwhile, the 2nd quarter NSED which is a quarterly activity organized by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) that seeks to heighten public awareness and to educate the public on the importance of preparedness against earthquake hazards is set this June 10, 2021, Thursday at 9AM.
