DA-Rfo4a High Value Crops Development Program

The National Cacao Congress 2024 (NCC24) with a theme "Marketing Philippine Cacao and Chocolates" was held on August 1-2 at Lahug, Cebu City.

The event was attended and participated by farmers and farmer-groups from regions around the Philippines and was supported by the government and private partners.

The congress aims to promote higher productivity and how to produce the best quality fermented beans. To attain its aim, the NCC24 invited marketing experts/resource persons, relevant agencies/organizations to discuss strategies and programs on how to market cacao and chocolates locally and internationally.

In the event, 100 booths were set up for rent of cacao farmers, government partners and private partners involved in the production of the cacao value chain to display their products and services. Among 100 exhibitors were Cacao Farmers Agripreneur of Nagcarlan (CFAN) Agriculture Cooperative and Luisiana Cacao Growers Association (LCGA) who are two of the farmer organizations being assisted by the Department of Agriculture 4-CALABARZON.

Nakiisa ang DA RFO 4A-HVCDP sa isinagawang 1st Pineapple Field Day ng Munisipalidad ng Silang, Cavite noong ika-21 ng Disyembre 2023. Ito ay matagumpay na naisagawa sa pangunguna ni Municipal Agriculturist Bb. Adelia Poblete, sa tulong ng kanyang mga kasamahan.

Layunin ng gawaing ito na maipakita ang resulta ng Technology Demonstration na isa sa mga programa ng Department of Agriculture.

Ang nasabing aktibidad ay isinagawa sa techno demo farm ni G. Romel Olores, na aktibong miyembro ng Silang Pineapple Growers Association.

Kabilang sa mga dumalo ay ang mga kawani ng DA-HVCDP, APCO Cavite G. Ruben Perlas, HVCDP Coordinator-Cavite Bb. Cynthia Perez, at pamunuan ng Silang Pineapple Growers Association.
