💥 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗱 (𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗱)

One unforgettable day, I was cooking beef stew using a pressure cooker, a normal day in the kitchen that turned into something straight out of a disaster film.

Just as I was tending to the pot, BOOM, the lid suddenly exploded off. The thick, hot stew sauce shot up to the ceiling, splattered across the walls, floors, and worst of all, all over my body.

For a moment, everything was a blur.

I looked down, expecting to see burns… maybe scars. But to my shock...nothing. Not even a blister. Somehow, I came out completely unharmed.

I believe that was nothing short of a miracle.

The pressure must have released in just the right way, the stew cooled slightly mid-air, and the force shot mostly upward. It could have been fatal. But it wasn’t. And for that, I am beyond grateful.

What made the moment even more surreal was what happened right after. We had a live-in staff couple staying in a room just beside the kitchen. In panic, I screamed for help, not to be dramatic, but just to make sure everyone was okay.

Silence.
They didn’t come out. Didn’t even check. They pretended not to hear anything.

Later on, we discovered deeper problems, disrespect, insubordination, and even theft from our kaha (cash box). That moment confirmed what we had long suspected, and we knew we had to let them go. Not just for our business, but for the peace and safety of our home.

Looking back, that explosion was a turning point. It was loud, messy, and dangerous, but it also exposed what needed to be removed from our lives.

Sometimes, life explodes to show you who and what really matters.
