GENTLE REMINDER:

Don’t Despise the Small, the Hidden, or the Unseen

2 King 6-8

In these chapters, a servant wakes up terrified—surrounded by horses and chariots of fire belonging to the enemy. But Elisha prays, “Lord, open his eyes.” And the servant sees: the mountain is full of God’s horses and chariots of fire.

Friend, you may feel outnumbered today—by problems, fears, or impossible circumstances. But the unseen reality is greater than the visible threat. God is already there.

Later, in a famine, four lepers discover that God has already scattered the enemy army. They start hoarding the spoils—until they stop and say, “This is a day of good news, and we keep silent?”

Don’t let fear or shame keep you from sharing what God has done.

And in chapter 8, a foreign king asks Gehazi, “Tell me all the great things Elisha has done.” Right there, in a pagan court, the miracles are recounted.

So three things for today:

1. Ask for open eyes—not just for what’s wrong, but for where God is moving.
2. Don’t hold back good news—your testimony might be the rescue someone needs.
3. Tell the great things—even in unlikely places, speak of God’s faithfulness.

The same God who controls invisible armies, breaks famines, and raises the dead is with you. You are not surrounded by the enemy—you are surrounded by the Lord.

Go, and don’t be silent.
