System Flow

Camera → PoE Switch → Core Switch → NVR → Server / Monitoring

Every video stream depends on network, storage & configuration

Camera Types (Application-Based)
• Dome → Indoor / offices
• Bullet → Outdoor / perimeter
• PTZ → Large area monitoring
• ANPR → Entry/exit vehicle tracking
• Panoramic / Fisheye → Wide coverage
• Thermal → Low light / critical zones

Network & Infrastructure
• CAT6 / CAT6A cables (up to 90–100m)
• Fiber optic for long distance
• RJ45 connectors & proper termination
• PoE switches (power + data)
• Core switch for distribution
• NVR with 42U rack setup

Engineering Considerations
• Bandwidth calculation (per camera load)
• Storage sizing (retention days)
• Proper switch load distribution
• Network redundancy (if critical system)

Real Site Challenges
• Blind spots due to poor planning
• Wrong camera angle / height
• Cable damage during finishing
• Network overload on single switch
• Storage full = no recording
