Under the banner of progress and cultural pride, the Province of Davao de Oro successfully staged the 19th Bulawan Festival โ Farmersโ Day on March 02, 2026 at the Pavilion, Childrenโs Park, Capitol Complex in Cabidianan, Nabunturan.
The event gathered agricultural leaders, innovators, and young farm advocates in a celebration that highlighted advancements in smart agriculture and youth participation in the sector.
Fifteen (15) selected members of the USeP Mabini Unit 4H Club proudly represents the university as they participated in the Smart Agriculture Symposium and the Agri-Fishery Innovation Pitching Contest, demonstrating their commitment to agricultural development and innovation.
The morning symposium featured a series of learning sessions focused on emerging agricultural technologies led by the SF Group of Companies, who underscored the transformative role of precision mapping, aerial crop health monitoring, and automated spraying systems in modern farming practices.
Moreover, Ms. Drelyn S. Perez, the Project Technical Assistant of Department of Science and Technology Region IX introduced the Project SARAI โ SPIDTECH. The presentation showcased an AI-powered mobile application designed to assist farmers in identifying pests and diseases in real time, enhancing productivity and decision-making in the field.
Completing the symposium, The National Soil Health Program โ Mobile Soil Laboratory presented by Mr. Jhon Francis S. Pama, Science Research Specialist I, emphasized the importance of accessible soil testing services in improving crop productivity and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
In the afternoon, attention shifted to the Agri-Fishery Innovation Pitching Contest, where young agriculturists presented forward-thinking ideas that integrated smart agriculture technologies and value-adding solutions. The competition highlighted the creativity and potential of youth in shaping the future of the agricultural sector.
Through their active engagement in both the symposium and the pitching contest, members of the USeP Mabini Unit 4H Club reaffirmed their commitment to agricultural advancement, sustainability, and community development - embodying the spirit and vision of this yearโs Bulawan Festival celebration.
