EL NIÑO ALERT, ITINAAS NA! ⚠️🟥

BREAKING NEWS: DOST-PAGASA has officially raised its ENSO Alert and Warning System to EL NIÑO ALERT as of today Wednesday, April 22, 2026. This means that there is HIGH chances of El Niño development in the coming months, which may persist until early 2027.

This may bring drier-than-usual conditions, including dry spells and droughts in parts of the country.

However, above-normal rainfall may still be experienced over the western sections during the Habagat season.

HAPPENING NOW | Local Resilience Index Orientation

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) is currently conducting the Local Resilience Index Orientation at the Tech4Ed Hall, Magallanes, Agusan del Norte.

This activity aims to improve comprehension of resilience indicators and strengthen the capacity of stakeholders in assessing and improving the community’s disaster preparedness and response systems towards a more resilient and adaptive Magallanes.

HAPPENING NOW | ICS for Executive Course – Batch 1 Training

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) is currently conducting the Incident Command System (ICS) for Executive Course – Batch 1 Training for Barangay Officials from Poblacion, Marcos, Sto. Rosario, and Taod-oy at Pink Beach Resort, Brgy. Sto. Niño, Magallanes, Agusan del Norte.

This initiative aims to enhance leadership, strengthen coordination, and improve preparedness among our local officials in effectively managing emergencies and disaster situations towards building a safer, more resilient and disaster ready community.

At 8 a.m. Friday, April 10, Tropical Storm Sinlaku was located 2,730 km east of northeastern Mindanao.

It may enter the Philippine area of responsibility later next week but will neither directly affect nor make landfall over any part of the country. | via ABS-CBN resident meteorologist Ariel Rojas
