Why are we going to let taxpayers pay 6 times more for a free public wifi that is 10x slower?

Let the truth be told. DICT’s Free Wifi is faster and a lot cheaper per Mbps than UNDP’s Free Wifi. It should therefore be allowed to continue and empower more ordinary Filipinos to enjoy better online experience.

Many school kids from poor homes are depending on the free wifi program of the government. They can never be able to study and learn well if we put a limit to their data usage. An average video call uses 270 MB per hour. So how can 50 to 100 MB be enough data allowance for one student? It’s not even enough for a student to finish a one hour online class.

Let the Filipino people get the Free Wifi they deserve. Let them get the DICT Free Wifi.

We should not put a limit to the online experience of ordinary Filipinos. They deserve to get more. Especially during these times when their kids are studying online and people are doing many transactions online every single day. The DICT’s Free Wifi project should be continuously implemented. With its faster speed and unlimited usage, it’s what the Filipinos deserve.
