LABAN PILIPINAS! | Team Philippines made its way to the of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games!
Our flag-bearers Ernie Gawilan and Agustina Bantiloc, alongside our competitors Allain Ganapin, Jerrold Mangliwan, Cendy Asusano, and Angel Otom marched inside the Place de la Concorde for the 2024 Summer Paralympics, also known as the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Branded as Paris 2024, it is the 17th Summer Paralympic Games, the international multi-sport parasports event governed by the International Paralympic Committee, held in Paris, France, from 28 August to 8 September 2024.
The Paralympic Games is the major international sports competition for athletes with disabilities. The word “Paralympic” is derived from the Greek preposition “para” (beside or alongside) and the word “Olympic”. Its meaning is that Paralympics are the parallel Games to the Olympics and illustrates how the two movements exist side-by-side.
