Keith Kebo Brown is creative director and head designer for KEITH A. BROWN Designs.
The ethos of the brand is constituted on many of the same visuals that engaged him as a boy growing up in the Southern part of the United States.
The visual flavors of southern cooking, the mélange of colors, textures & flavors are a hallmark of my style.
The soulful sounds of the blues, hip-hop and southern soul are my soundtrack.
He began his career in the garment industry in the late 80’s and has worked for such brands as Marithe’ & Francois Girbaud and Esprit de Corp., two of the world’s foremost fashion powerhouses throughout the late 80’s and 90’s. In July of 1994, his career experience had evolved into a place, both creatively and professionally, which allowed him to follow his dream of creating under his own label, Keith A. Brown Designs, and opening his first atelier, then based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
From 1994-2000, his focus was on building the brand and being in Atlanta during that time was magic. During this time, the 1996 Olympics happened and it was the hotbed of the music industry and provided chance to not just dress an amazing group of A-Listers, but also to expand to wardrobe styling for music videos for a diverse group of clients, some including: LaFace Records OutKast & Esperanza; Verve Records bluesman, Lucky Peterson along with Bootsy Collins; Noontime recording artist Jim Crow; Elektra artist DJ DMD and Keith Sweats group Ol'Skool.
Around 2001, Keith became somewhat of a cultural ambassador in Atlanta and had his fingerprint on the pulse of everything culturally relevant, expanding to producing art, music and culturally cool events.
In 2010, Keith moved from the United States to the Philippines for a new challenge and adventure, and for three-and-a half years his creative skill set took him on a different journey; he worked as a creative director within the global health arena developing visual communication initiatives. In a sense, he didn’t stray far from the engagement strategies that he had applied in the garment industry as communication and storytelling has always been a key component in fashion. He continued this work after moving to Geneva, Switzerland from 2013 to 2016, but in 2016, the calling to return to designing clothes pulled him back in. The five years in Geneva were wonderful, but the buzz of Asia was, so here we are.
Keith is now back designing clothes full time from the Philippines and scaling up the business while traveling the globe being inspired…
