Leadership in school through the SELG and SSLG serves as a powerful platform for shaping responsible, visionary, and service-driven student leaders. It empowers learners to become the collective voice of their peers and active collaborators in fostering a culture of excellence, discipline, inclusivity, and respect within the school community. Through meaningful engagement, collaborative decision-making, and servant leadership, these young leaders strengthen their confidence, integrity, and sense of accountability-laying a strong foundation for lifelong leadership and impactful citizenship beyond the school grounds.
With the steadfast guidance of our Principal-in-Charge of the District, Sir Democrito V. Barrientos II, and Sir Ronniel D. The Malay District successfully conducted the Meeting of School Heads and Administrative Officers serving as District Sub-Committees in preparation for the upcoming Recruitment and Selection of Applicants for the Division Comparative Assessment Result โ Registry of Qualified Applicants (CAR-RQA) for Kindergarten to Grade 12 Teacher I positions for School Year 2026โ2027.
The activity was spearheaded by our Principal-In-Charge, Sir Democrito V. Barrientos II, whose leadership emphasized transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to established recruitment guidelines and policies. He underscored the importance of maintaining integrity throughout the evaluation and selection process to ensure that only qualified, competent, and deserving applicants are included in the Registry of Qualified Applicants.
During the meeting, key procedures and standards for screening, evaluation, and documentation were thoroughly discussed. Maโam Angel Laila G. Samson, Administrative Officer II, provided a comprehensive and detailed presentation on the proper procedures in evaluating applicants. She elaborated on the criteria, rating system, documentary requirements, and step-by-step process of assessment to ensure uniformity and objectivity among the District Sub-Committees. Her discussion reinforced the importance of accuracy in scoring, proper documentation, and compliance with Division and DepEd regulations.
The roles and responsibilities of the District Sub-Committees were likewise clearly defined to guarantee a systematic, objective, and merit-based assessment of applicants. Committee members were oriented on timelines, required documents, rating sheets, and the proper consolidation and submission of results.
In the afternoon, an in-depth Orientation for Teacher I applicants was conducted to ensure that all candidates were fully informed of the recruitment process, requirements, criteria, and expectations. The orientation was comprehensively facilitated by Maโam Angel Laila G. Samson, Administrative Officer II, and Sir Bryan Ray S. Solano, Master Teacher II. They provided comprehensive explanations on the documentary requirements, evaluation components, demonstration teaching procedures, accomplishment of the Teacherโs Reflection Form, and corresponding points system under the CAR-RQA guidelines
The activity served as an avenue to promote clarity, accountability, and preparedness among both committee members and applicants. Through this initiative, Malay District reaffirms its commitment to upholding quality standards in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring that highly qualified educators will serve the learners for School Year 2026โ2027.

LGU Malay Redeploys Non-Teaching Personnel, Reaffirms Decade-Long Priority on Education
MALAY, AKLAN โ The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay, through the Local School Board (LSB), deployed non-teaching personnel to their respective public schools as part of the priority allocation under the 2026 Special Education Fund (SEF, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to education. For more than a decade, LGU Malay has consistently prioritized education support above all other local initiatives, ensuring schools receive sustained manpower and resources.
The LSB conducted an orientation program to prepare the newly hired job order personnel for their assignments. Democrito V. Barrientos II, LSB Co-Chairperson, led the activity alongside Bryan Ray S. Solano, LSB Secretary, and Jake S. Sullano, LSB Board Member and Committee Chair on Non-Teaching Personnel.
During the orientation, Mr. Dos Barrientos emphasized integrity in public service and framed his message through the mnemonic D.O.S.โDiligent, Optimistic, and Sustainabilityโas core values expected from the personnel in the performance of their duties.
Mr. Bryan Ray Siรฑel Solano discussed the duties and functions of job order employees, including the terms of their contracts, the no work, no pay policy, and the ethical standards required of all personnel serving in public schools.
In his closing remarks, Mr Jake Sullano stressed that integrity at work remains the foundation of effective service delivery and public trust.
After the orientation, the non-teaching job order employees signed their contracts, officially marking the start of their deployment to schools across the municipality.
School officials and beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to Fromy S. Bautista Honorable Mayor of Malay, for his steadfast educational leadership and for sustaining, over the past decade, LGU Malayโs policy of placing education support at the forefront of local governance.
