🌟 October is Scouting Month! 🌟

🌲 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝑺𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈?
Scouting is more than just camping and knots—it’s a movement that shapes young people to be responsible citizens, effective leaders, and selfless servants of others. It teaches discipline, teamwork, love for nature, and readiness to face life’s challenges guided by the Scout Oath and Law.

𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝑶𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓? 🗓️
Because it marks the founding of our national scouting organization. In October 1936, Commonwealth Act No. 111 was signed, officially establishing the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. Since then, every October we honor the Scouting Movement and the values it has instilled in generations of young people. 💚🏕️

📖 𝑨 𝑩𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑯𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚:
Scouting began in 1907 when Lord Robert Baden-Powell organized the first experimental camp on Brownsea Island, England. From that small camp grew a worldwide brotherhood of service, leadership, and preparedness. In the Philippines, Scouting started in 1914 under the Boy Scouts of America and later became fully Filipino with the establishment of the BSP in 1936.

Let us observe this month with pride, service, and dedication to the true spirit of Scouting. ✨🔥

On Osmeña Day – September 9, 2025, the UCLM – Legion Scouts answered the call of service with purpose and passion. Through a meaningful Tree Planting & Clean-Up Drive at Capitol Hills, Lahug, Cebu City, the scouts demonstrated what it truly means to live by the values of scouting — duty to God, country, and community.

With every tree planted and every space cleaned, the scouts proved that service is more than an act — it is a way of life. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.”

He has made history as UCLM's first-ever Senior Scout to earn the Explorer Rank and achieve Top 1 Overall in the Board of Review for the Explorer Rank.
He officially passed the BOR on May 24, 2025 (Saturday) at Mayahay, Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City.
