Congratulations to the newly certified participants of the BACKGROUND ACTORS’ WORKSHOP!

Over three days, background actors drilled on the practical skills, discipline, and on-set mindset needed to work safely and professionally on film and television sets. On Day 1, 1st AD Camille Aragona, 2nd AD Jeff Cantuba, and Vangie Torcino walked participants through AD hierarchy, call sheets, set etiquette, continuity basics, and live set simulations.

On Days 2 and 3, acclaimed actress and acting teacher Angeli Bayani (Norte, the End of History; Ilo Ilo), along with esteemed actors and apprentice teachers Elora Españo and Ross Pesigan, guided them through grounded performance, listening and reacting on cue, and working confidently with the camera and their scene partners.

Background actors are essential collaborators who deserve respect, clear direction, and safe, professional working conditions. This workshop aimed to equip them with concrete tools to step on set ready to meet industry standards.
