MP Model Philippines advances & promotes the professional aesthetical masculinity of Filipino police

Educated guesses lang. I might be wrong.

1. It's deeper than laziness.

I speculate na baka maraming nakadevelop ng bad eating habits (or eating disorder) due to the rigid practice of eating during their training days. For example, controlled masyado ang food consumption nila from the food they eat to the manner how they eat it.

Dahil graduate na sila sa training and duly appointed na sila as police personnel, 'malaya' na sila at may kontrol na sila sa paraan ng pagkain nila.

So lamon malala.

2. Survival over fitness.

They might be implementing physical training as a form of pain-simulator and they have to be trained to tolerate the 'pain'.

Kumbaga they have to survive the exercise first before they even enjoy it (minsan hindi na nga). So exercise is associated to 'punishment' than improvement of functionality.

3. Sedentary work and erratic schedule.

Maraming sa mga kapulisan ang may tedious desk works which leads to inactivity and long-sitting hours.

Due to mental fatigue, they perceived na drained na sila before even exercising.

Rotational din ang shifts so yung circadian rhythm nila (body clock), pabago-bago din which leads to sleep irregularity and deprivation (note: lack of sleep leads to rise of cravings and appetite levels)

4. Highly stressful work.

Due to the nature of work na laging nasa peligro and they deal with different (hostile) people, possibly may mga unhealthy coping mechanisms silang nadevelop like drinking alcohol and stress eating.

They cope in a counterproductive way.

5. Lack of fitness literacy.

Mostly, they thought na maintaining fitness should always be extreme. Walang rice dapat, gulay lang dapat, and etc. So back to #2, hindi na nila gusto maranasan yun.

Utimately, it's a systemic problem. Unfair na tanggalin sila agad kung sa pugad nila, walang sustainable program or system that will equip them enough to maintain fitness.

Again, I might be wrong.
Just an opinion based on shared experiences ng mga pulis na kakilala ko.

Their uniforms can’t protect them—or the people they serve—if their bodies can’t move with them.

GWAPULIS, NAG-OUT NA!

TEARS OF A GENERAL
by Jun Abines

Most men rarely cry. Tears of tough men are the hardest to draw. They are rare and far in between. More rare than a full solar eclipse.

But this morning I saw my tears flow like a river.

The sight of PPNP Lt.Gen. Vicente Danao thanking Tatay Digong from his heart was too much to bear. I cried then stopped. I watched again and cried. Then stopped. I watched again. And cried more.

Here is one of the toughest and most hardened Police General we have known wearing his heart on his sleeves. His precious tears reveal how much our Police and Army badly need a leader who truly serves his country, not plunder it.

Gen. Vicente Danao is a badly worn out battle scarred soldier. He's on a "been there and done that" stage of his career. He'd served countless Presidents and Generals in his life time.

Seeing him cry to see Tatay Digong stepdown is like seeing a little boy left by man he truly loved and trust. Leaving him alone and vulnerable in the hands of people who don't care about him.

Our PNP and AFP have been used, abused, bullied and disrespected by most politicians for several decades. They've been painted the wrong color and demonized by media forever. Misunderstood by the public too.

Then came Tatay Digong. For 6 years, he fed, he dressed and rehabilitated the Police and Army. He raised their professionalism to unprecedented level to new hieghts. He is like a long lost father making up for all the lost years by giving everything he can to an orphaned boy.

Those precious and holy tears shed by Gen. Danao represents all the pains, sufferings, frustrations, despair and lives lost by our Police and Army caused by our corrupt and incompetent leaders in the past.

Those tears represents the wishes and hopes of our Police and Soldiers that our leaders of today will learn and follow the good deeds and examples of out-going President Tatay Digong.

Those tears of love and gratefulness is the most valuable treasure that Tatay Digong can bring with him as he steps down.

Most great leaders will be happy to be awarded with honors, fame and glory for their great service.

But only Tatay Digong deserves the most sincere, the most heartfelt, and rarest form of gratefulness for his service: THE TEARS OF BATTLE HARDENED GENERAL.
