Accel Institute
Our mission is to make world-class business education affordable and accessible, in person, to all.
Before Netflix came into the picture, Video City was the king of home entertainment π But it started dying, then disappeared. What happened? π¬π
Business model innovation is what happened. Netflix didnβt innovate on the product β it was still movies. But they changed how they delivered the experience, and the deal they offered customers: a flat monthly fee, instead of a fee per movie watched. The rest is history.
What are the lessons here?
(1) You can disrupt an industry without changing the product
(2) There are many business models to choose from
(3) Let the customer be your guide in choosing your business model
If you want to learn more about business models, and choose the right one for your business, join our Fundamentals of Business course!

Resume equals skills. Values-based interviewing equals how they work π₯π‘
When you are scaling a business or stepping into a management role, your ability to hire the right people is your ultimate advantage. But if you are only interviewing candidates to double-check the technical skills already listed on their resume, you are missing half the picture.
Values-based interviewing is a powerful tool because it looks past standard qualifications to see how a person navigates pressure, alignment, and teamwork. It ensures that a new hire won't just do the job, but will actually live out your companyβs values and protect your team culture. Balancing technical talent with cultural alignment is the secret to long-term operational success β
Stop relying on great resumes alone and start hiring for total alignment.
