A study was conducted in a high school in Taiwan entitled "Exposure to Sexually explicit media in early adolescence is Related to risky s*xual behavior in emerging childhood" to determine and examine the statistics of boys and girls exposed to SEM (s*xually explicit media). Boys were found to be subjected to SEMs through Comics, which had the highest percentage of 33.7%, followed by Films, 22.7%, and P**n which had 18.5%. Girls were found only to be exposed to one factor, Books, having a total of 22.5%.

Exposure to SEMs as a child creates a higher chance that an individual will have risky s*xual behavior in later life. That is why guidance is crucial through time or as early as their age.
