In Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr.’s speech to mark the 124th Founding Anniversary of NU, he gave emphasis on the importance of honoring the colorful past of the institution, and use it as a thriving point to move forward.

Likewise, Dr. Ermita honored the man of the hour, Don Mariano Jhocson by recognizing his vision as the institution’s driving force to provide quality education that is within reach across the country through massive expansion. He was equally thankful to Mr. Henry Sy Sr., whom he called as NU’s modern-day benefactor for all his hard work and immense contributions to the institution.

He presented NU’s milestones and the many campuses that the institution has opened in East Ortigas and Bacolod, among many others. Dr. Ermita recognizes the efforts of the whole community for making their ambitious tenure school expansion happen with utmost gratitude.

Lastly, he further solidifies NU’s commitment to education that works and its role in nation building by laying bare NU’s plans to expand in Visayas and in Mindanao.
