𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬 𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬❓

You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. - Luke 12:40 NLT

Jesus is not just giving a suggestion. He is giving a command for our survival and our salvation.

⚠️​ALSO = Another Warning / Reminder
This word reminds us that we are not the first to hear this. It is a recurring reminder throughout Scripture. If God says it once, it is important. If it is highlighted, it is a critical warning we cannot afford to ignore.

🛑​MUST = No Excuses
Jesus does not say "try to be" or "if you have time." He says must. There are no excuses for spiritual slumber. We can’t blame our busyness, our stress, or our surroundings for a heart that has grown cold.

🛡️​BE READY = Daily Discipline
Readiness is not an emotion. It is a discipline. It’s the daily habit of opening the Word, staying in prayer, and keeping our hearts aligned with His. It’s a decision made every morning before the world starts screaming for our attention.
𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞.

​✝️ALL THE TIME = No Time for Distractions
Faithfulness is not a part-time job. If we are only ready on Sundays, we are actually unfaithful. Because we don't know the hour, there is no safe time to be distracted by sin or worldliness.
​𝐀𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡.

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

To be on guard against a thief and to be ready for Jesus' return, we should live in constant readiness.
𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐲. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲.
When you stay ready, the return of the Son of Man is not a moment of terror. It is the moment you’ve been waiting for.

𝗪𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗟❓

Mark 8:35 ESV
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.

Following Jesus is the ONLY way we could find authentic life; a TRULY purposeful life.

John 14:6 ESV
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬.

Luke 4:5-8 ESV
[5] And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, [6] and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. [7] If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” [8] And Jesus answered him, “It is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’”

Satan showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in a moment. ​He offered Him all the authority and glory. The condition? Just worship him. But Jesus answered:
“It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and HIM ONLY shall you serve.’”

𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄.

𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨
𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐄 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐋.

𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
​It means putting God’s will...
ABOVE your personal comfort,
ABOVE your ambitions,
and ABOVE your physical security.

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟,
𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭.

Self-interest < Eternal Communion with God.

So, shall we trade our soul?
