🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

In 2025, victims of an illegal child trafficking operation disguised as a surrogate business contacted Project Rescue Children (PRC). PRC operatives on the frontlines carried out our own investigations including surveillance across multiple locations, confirming the victims' allegations. PRC obtained excellent evidence, including video recordings. After further investigations, we then accompanied one victim to The National Bureau of Investigation-Human Trafficking Division (NBI-HTRAD) to file a complaint and initiate law enforcement.

We thank the NBI-HTRAD for listening and taking victim statements along with our case file. After further surveillance carried out by NBI and PRC field operatives, NBI-HTRAD, in collaboration with PRC, conducted the complex rescue operation on June 9, 2026. The details remain confidential due to prosecutors putting a strong case together but are incredibly shocking.

Upon confirming the presence of both the Subjects and victims in the two locations, NBI-HTRAD, together with representatives from the MSWDO and Project Rescue Children, conducted a simultaneous raid, which resulted in the arrest of the three (3) Subjects and the rescue of fifteen (15) victims.

NBI Director Atty. Melvin A. Matibag emphasized that the Bureau remains steadfast in its mission to combat human trafficking and all forms of exploitation. "No individual should be treated as a commodity or be exploited because of their circumstances. The NBI will relentlessly pursue those who prey on the vulnerable and will continue working closely with partner agencies to uphold the law, protect victims, and ensure that justice prevails," Director Matibag added.

PRC has a 100% success rate in our operations in collaboration with the NBI. We thank NBI agents for their leadership and dedication to fight human trafficking. We strongly believe more action is needed and less talking of law making that does not stop this crime or help victims trapped in a nightmare.

Child trafficking is not somebody else’s problem. Child trafficking is one of the largest and most profitable criminal industries in the world, generating billions of dollars every year while destroying the lives of countless children.

It happens in wealthy countries. It happens in developing countries. It happens in cities, towns and rural communities. It happens online and offline. No nation is immune.

Today, children are being trafficked, exploited and sold from their own family homes through the internet, livestreaming platforms, encrypted messaging apps and social media networks. A child can be abused in one country while offenders thousands of kilometres away watch, direct and pay for the abuse in real time.

Technology has created new opportunities for traffickers and predators to access children without ever leaving their homes.

Every day, children are bought, sold, groomed, exploited, transported, abused and controlled by traffickers who view them as commodities instead of human beings.

At Project Rescue Children, we refuse to look away. We are one of few organisations truly fighting alongside law enforcement on the frontlines.

We continue to stand alongside frontline law enforcement agencies, child protection professionals and partner organisations working tirelessly to identify victims, investigate offenders and dismantle trafficking networks.

But rescue is only the beginning.

The trauma of trafficking does not end when a child is removed from danger. Survivors often require long-term support, counselling, education, protection and opportunities to rebuild their lives. That is why we remain committed to supporting survivors long after their freedom.

For too long, many have talked about the problem.

The time for talking alone is over.

Action is what rescues children.
Action is what identifies offenders.
Action is what supports survivors.
Action is what saves lives.

Everyone has a responsibility to protect children, regardless of where they live, their profession, their background or their nationality. Child protection is not the responsibility of governments and charities alone. It belongs to all of us.

Project Rescue Children will continue taking action. We will continue standing with those on the frontlines. We will continue fighting for children who cannot fight for themselves.

ABF investigators arrested a man at Sydney International Airport last week after ABF officers allegedly found thousands of files suspected to contain child abuse material on the man's phone during a baggage examination on his arrival into Australia.

Approximately 750,000 files are still subject to further investigation.

Following the man's arrest, NSW Police Force officers executed a search warrant at a unit in Newcastle and seized further electronic devices.

We have zero tolerance for the importation, possession or distribution of child abuse material, and anyone attempting to bring this material into Australia should expect to be detected and dealt with under the full extent of the law. Behind every image is a child who has been exploited – these are serious offences with real and lasting harm.
