🚨 IT Alert: Windows 11 Update Reportedly Bricking Drives — Check If You’re at Risk

A growing number of users report that the latest Windows 11 update (KB5063878) is causing serious drive failures — in some cases rendering SSDs and HDDs completely unusable, with data loss that may be unrecoverable.

The update, released on August 12, 2025 as part of version 24H2, was meant to fix login delays caused by “certain preinstalled packages.” But it seems to have introduced new headaches.

Installation issues: Some admins initially saw error code 0x80240069 when deploying via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). Microsoft has since patched this glitch.

More serious reports: Users, including X account (Nekorusukii), claim the update has outright bricked storage drives, sparking concerns about widespread impact.

If you manage Windows 11 devices, you may want to pause or test this update in a controlled environment before broad deployment.
