Mister Supranational Philippines 2024 Brandon Espiritu has sparked conversation among pageant fans after commenting on the prominence of mixed-heritage, or "halfie," candidates in Philippine competitions.

In a now-deleted social media comment, Espiritu suggested that many of the country's pageant front-runners come from mixed backgrounds, adding that the Philippines would have fewer chances of success on the national stage without them.
