About the Artists:

Sara and Sanaz Zaher earned their Master’s degrees from the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) under Prof. Jorgos Panetsos, and later completed postgraduate studies in Performance and Ensemble Playing.

Duo Zaher captivates audiences with masterful interpretations spanning Renaissance repertoire to contemporary music. Their expressive performances have been heard on numerous international stages and have led to regular collaborations with Austrian cultural institutions such as the Vienna Konzerthaus, Kunsthalle Wien, Die Jeunesse, Wiener Musikverein, and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Tehran.

They have performed at prestigious venues worldwide, with appearances in Mexico, Thailand, Nepal, Austria, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Romania, Poland, Germany, Spain, and Iran. Duo Zaher are also frequently invited as jury members at major international guitar competitions, including the Forum Gitarre Wien International Guitar Festival and Competition in Austria, the Asia International Festival and Competition in Thailand, and the Transilvania International Guitar Festival and Competition in Romania.

In addition, they regularly give masterclasses at renowned festivals and music institutions such as the Conservatorio de Música de Chihuahua in Mexico, Sønderborg Music Academy in Denmark, Hamburger Gitarrenfestival in Germany, and the Kathmandu International Guitar Festival in Nepal.

For the 2025–2026 season, Duo Zaher has received invitations from festivals across Europe and Asia, with engagements in the Philippines, China, Mexico, Colombia, Romania, Italy, Iran, and Austria. They also look forward to several concerts at the Wiener Musikverein and the Vienna Konzerthaus.

Duo Zaher are winners of numerous international competitions, including the Grand Prix at the Vienna International Artists Competition in Austria, First Prize at the 6th Florence International Guitar Competition in Italy, First Prize at the Transilvania International Guitar Competition in Romania, Second Prize at the 15th Veria International Guitar Competition in Greece, and Third Prize at the 13th Joaquín Rodrigo International Guitar Competition in Poland.

Sara and Sanaz perform on guitars by Paco Santiago Marin and are members of the Thomastik-Infeld Artist Family.
