IBP La Union Joins Nationwide Synchronized Tree Planting, Plants 300 Agoho Seedlings in Agoo Protected Landscape
Agoo, La Union; June 14, 2026 — The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) La Union Chapter joined IBP Chapters across the country in the Synchronized Nationwide Tree Planting Activity, reinforcing its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development through collective action.
Conducted in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office No. 1 and the La Union Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), the activity was held at the Agoo-Damortis Protected Landscape and Seascape (ADPLS) in Sta. Rita Central, Agoo, La Union, beginning at 7:00 a.m.
The event brought together lawyer-members of IBP La Union, their families and friends, students from the DMMMSU-MLUC College of Law, and personnel from DENR Regional Office No. 1 and La Union PENRO in a shared effort to promote environmental stewardship and climate resilience.
A total of 300 agoho seedlings were planted within the protected landscape, contributing to the rehabilitation and preservation of the area’s coastal ecosystem. Known for their resilience and ability to prevent soil erosion, agoho trees play a vital role in protecting shorelines and enhancing biodiversity.
The activity reflects the shared commitment of the legal profession, government agencies, educational institutions, and the community to safeguarding the environment for future generations. By participating in this nationwide initiative, IBP La Union once again demonstrated that the pursuit of justice extends beyond the courtroom and includes the responsibility to protect and preserve the country’s natural resources.
IBP La Union extends its sincere appreciation to DENR Regional Office No. 1, La Union PENRO, the DMMMSU-MLUC College of Law, and all volunteers whose participation made the activity a meaningful and successful undertaking. Together, they planted not only 300 trees but also the seeds of environmental responsibility, collaboration, and hope for a greener future.
