Patience is a virtue. In this poem the author ask Kuya Pong Pagong [older brother Pong the turtle] for a bamboo shoot for he wanted his roof frame to be made of bamboo. Of course it will take time for a bamboo shoot to mature. In the last line, He asked Pong pagong if he wants some goodies which implies the title [P**o bumbong,] a local delicacies made from ground rice cooked in bamboo tube.

The poem also want to point out that we should help each other. Small thing it may seem, it may have taken time for both to benefits, in the end both will be happy
